The Gunloader will work within a team to build guns for wireline field operations. The Gunloader will be responsible for maintenance of all perforating gun hardware; install wiring, detonating cord, explosive charges and all other required components to produce perforating guns of the highest quality. The Gunloader will be responsible for working with management to maintain inventory and required documentation of explosives usage. The Gunloader is expected to be a team player while maintaining a professional, productive and pleasant work environment.  Must also focus on and maintain a safe work area and quality products to be used in the field.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

Typical duties include:

  • Work within a team to maintain a safe, healthy, environmentally friendly and quality focused work environment.
  • Maintain compliance with all DOT and BATFE guidelines.
  • Receive, understand and comply with customer requirements for loaded gun configurations.
  • Ensure quality control of subs, adapters and all associated hardware.
  • Maintain inventory of all explosives, switches, o-rings and other gun components in cooperation with the gun shop manager.
  • Prepare all hardware and components necessary for gun loading.
  • Install wiring, detonating cord and required perforating charges to produce a perforating gun that is compliant with customer requirements and MBI standards.
  • Perform necessary electrical and mechanical inspection to confirm quality of end product.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with perforating gun systems.
  • Complete all paperwork required by company in addition to all regulatory agencies when receiving or issuing explosives.
  • Must follow all safety rules and company policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

  • 1+ years of related oilfield experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of applications of explosives used in the wireline business.
  • Must have a Class A Commercial Driver's License with HazMat endorsement 
  • Must be able to pass ATF comprehensive background check.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions in a fast paced environment.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Valid Commercial Driver's License with proper Hazardous Materials endorsement appropriate for transporting explosives
