A Driver Manager assists the District Manager in the planning, managing and direction of a driver pool of assigned personnel, equipment and resources to provide services with the highest standard of safety, quality and professionalism. Driver Managers supervise and coordinate activities such as maintenance scheduling, plan and delegate work assignments, monitor field work, and create employee schedules.


Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Train drivers, troubleshoot issues and understand the technical and reporting aspects of the PeopleNet system.
  • Assist District Manager in overseeing personnel needs of the department including selecting, coaching, disciplinary, training employees, and evaluating employee performance and reviews.
  • Provide input into termination, compensation and promotion decisions.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the District, and provides daily support to District Manager in ensuring quality and performance.
  • Develop a strong understanding and dedication to the MBI Safety Program; work with Corporate and local safety teams to continue to create an aware and observant safety conscious culture.
  • Attend and contribute to driver safety meetings to promote a favorable working relationship among all employees.Build and maintain drivers scheduling.
  • Schedule and maintain driver's vacation calendar to suit customer equipment demands.
  • Schedule and oversee maintenance of equipment with shop manager.
  • Work closely with dispatch to service customer needs.
  • Participate in area mentor programs.
  • Must be able to drive a company vehicle and hold a valid driver's license.

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent.


Licenses and Certifications

Valid commercial driver's license.
