Summary

A Gun Loader must be able to supply the required number of guns for stage frac demands. Attention to detail is key to ensuring quality and a high success rate while on location. A Gun Loader is expected to maintain a professional work environment.  Must also focus on and maintain a safe work area and quality products to be used while in the field.

 

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Load explosive powder or chemicals into gun perforators used to shoot holes through tubing, casings, and earth formations. 
  • Assemble perforators, using special hand tools.
  • Clean, gauge, and lubricate gun ports distributed along barrel.
  • Insert specified powered charge in chamber of sidewall sample takings cylinder and assembles cylinders, using special tools.
  • Maintain inventory of all explosives and radioactive materials.
  • Must be capable of loading all types of guns.
  • Regulate the purchasing, transportation and use of explosives.
  • Complete all paperwork required by company in addition to all regulatory agencies when receiving or issuing explosives.
  • Must follow all safety rules and company policies.

 

Required Skills

  • 3+ years of related oilfield experience.
  • Must possess a working knowledge of ATF and applicable State laws.
  • Knowledge of applications of explosives used in the wireline business.
  • Knowledge of what types of explosives are needed for each specific job.
  • Basic computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Must be able to pass ATF comprehensive background check.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions in a fast paced and high stress environment.
  • Must possess exceptional customer service skills and the ability to work with current and potential customers, both internal and external.

Education
